Virgin Australia announces extra flights to Bundaberg and Moranbah in Regional Queensland

Virgin Australia today announced that it will add an additional four flights per week between Bundaberg and Brisbane and an extra eight flights per week between Moranbah and Brisbane to support growing demand. The airline will add the extra flights to its weekly schedule using its fuel efficient, 68-seat ATR Turboprop aircraft. It will also retime some of the existing services to Moranbah and Bundaberg to better meet the needs of the market. Virgin Australia Chief Commercial Officer Judith Crompton said: “Today’s announcement is part of our commitment to remain versatile and responsive to the needs of our customers. “We commenced operating to Bundaberg and Moranbah last year, bringing strong competition to those cities. We are very happy with the support we have received from the local community to date and now we are responding to growing demand. “Today’s announcement is an example of our commitment to enhancing our existing regional network for the benefit of Australians”, Ms Crompton said. The new Bundaberg flights will depart Brisbane at 5.05pm on Sunday and Monday afternoons departing from Bundaberg the next morning at 6.10am. Virgin Australia started flying to Moranbah in April 2013 and to Bundaberg in May 2013. For updated timetable and fare information visit virginaustralia.com.
