Monday 6 September 2021: Virgin Australia is today celebrating the reintroduction of services between Adelaide and Darwin with the Anywhere But Here sale, with one-way Economy fares from as low as $129*.

The sale fares are available from today until midnight this Friday 10 September or until sold-out at virginaustralia.com, with booking availability well into next year. All sale fares include Velocity Frequent Flyer Points, Status Credits and unlimited booking flexibility^.

The re-introduced services connecting the South Australian capital and the Top End will operate four-times weekly delivering up to 5,600 travellers each month, and generating a much-needed boost to the local tourism economy while allowing more Virgin Australia employees to return to the skies.

The positive news for travellers follows the opening of the Virgin Australia VA-X & WIN COVID-19 vaccination jackpot last week. To date more than 131,000 Australians have entered to win from a prize pool valued at over $150,000 for simply rolling up their sleeves and getting the jab. Prizes include Business Class Flights, Lounge Memberships and Virgin Australia pyjamas and one lucky Virgin Australia passenger will win one million Velocity Frequent Flyer points.

COMMENTS FROM VIRGIN AUSTRALIA GROUP CHIEF STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION OFFICER ALISTAIR HARTLEY:

“Our new direct services between Adelaide and Darwin will make it easier for South Australians to explore some of Darwin’s top attractions, like Mindil Beach and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory,” said Mr Hartley.

“Darwin is also a direct gateway to the Top End’s natural wonders such as Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks, Nitmiluk Gorge and all of the wonderful sites that make the Northern Territory so distinctive.

“Similarly Virgin Australia guests travelling from Darwin will be able to easily explore the wonders of South Australia like Port Lincoln, Kangaroo Island, the oyster farms at Coffin Bay, and the vineyards of McLaren Vale.

“Up to 5,600 additional passengers will travel on these new services each month, bringing a much-needed boost to the local tourism economy, allowing more of our team to return to what they love doing the most – flying!

“To celebrate the launch of the services, we’re giving customers until midnight this Friday to book a one-way Economy sale fare from just $129 that includes Velocity Frequent Flyer Points and Status Credits. Plus, to give customers added confidence we’re continuing to provide unlimited booking flexibility on all Virgin Australia flights for travel to 28 February 2022,” he said.
