Darwin and Alice Springs Lounges open for business
Virgin Australia has announced the brand new Darwin Lounge and Alice Springs Regional Lounge will be opened to passengers tomorrow.
Today’s announcement increases the airline’s lounge network across Australia from 10 to 12, bringing exclusive luxury to the Northern Territory.
Virgin Australia Chief Commercial Officer Judith Crompton said: “The opening of Virgin Australia lounges in Darwin and Alice Springs is an important step in bringing strong competition to the Northern Territory.
“Lounges are a strategic investment to attract business and premium travellers to the region, directly benefiting the local community.
“Each lounge has been architecturally designed to make the most of the space they are created in. Our Darwin lounge will include 130 seats with views over the airport precinct, while Alice Springs Regional Lounge will include over 40 seats with views over the striking landscape of Central Australia.
“We look forward to welcoming guests to our lounges and are confident they will exceed expectations,” Ms Crompton said.
Northern Territory Deputy Chief Minister Willem Westra van Holthe welcomed the new lounges:
“It’s great to see Virgin Australia investing in their Territory operations with these two new lounges. It’s great news for business and leisure travellers and is a sign of the airline’s commitment to their new Adelaide-Alice Springs-Darwin route,” Mr Westra van Holthe said.
