Virgin Australia announces complimentary food on Adelaide Services

Virgin Australia today announced it will offer guests complimentary snacks on all domestic flights out of Adelaide.

From 4 February 2015, guests travelling from Adelaide to Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Coolangatta, Perth and Sydney will be offered something light to accompany the complimentary tea, coffee, juice and water already offered on board. A Happy Hour service of complimentary wine, beer, cider and soft drinks is also available to all guests between 5 and 7pm Monday to Friday.

Virgin Australia Group Executive Public Affairs Danielle Keighery said: “Adelaide is a very important market for Virgin Australia and we are thrilled to introduce complimentary snacks in order to enhance our customer offering on board.

“The snacks will vary depending on the length of the flight, so guests travelling to Melbourne will receive something smaller like a cranberry and nut bar, while on the longer flights to Perth guests will be offered something like a gourmet sandwich accompanied by something sweet for dessert.

“Today’s announcement shows our commitment to making the end-to-end journey more enjoyable for our South Australian guests,” Ms Keighery said.

Guests are also able to purchase something more substantial from the café-style retail cart available on all domestic and short-haul international flights.

Complimentary snacks include items such as a slice of banana bread, a bacon and spring onion muffin or pumpkin dip served with lavosh bread.

Last month, Virgin Australia announced it would commence Adelaide to Alice Springs services for the first time, with flights to commence on 30 March 2015.
